The newspaper for New Mexico's second-largest city gave its thumbs up to the city council's action.

Wildany Guerrero is a communications intern at FairVote. His responsibilities include research, media tracking and producing editorial content for FairVote’s online blog “Voices & Choices.” He grew up in Hackensack, New Jersey, and currently studies political science and print journalism at American University in Washington D.C. Prior to his internship at FairVote, Wildany served as a congressional intern at the district office of Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., assisting with constituent relations and at Campaign Finance Consultants as a fundraising intern, helping clients in both the House of Representatives and the Senate with their reelection endeavors. More recently Wildany has turned to journalism to affect public education on ranked choice voting. As a writer for a student-lead publication, he has spoken with reporters and experts on the issue which, has steeled his focus on fighting gerrymandering at the policy level.
