Legal Fellow Peter Simmons focuses on election law and policy at the state, local and national levels. He has worked in the federal government’s executive and legislative branches on campaign finance, political campaigns, voting rights, and civil rights.
Simmons graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy from Georgia State University in May 2015 and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law in 2018. During law school, he served as a law clerk in the U.S. Senate, a legal intern in the Federal Election Commission, Federal Aviation Administration, and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights under Law. Simmons has also served as a political consultant and as a board member for both nonprofit and benefit corporations.
He is currently seeking admission to practice law in the District of Columbia.
