National Voter Registration Day makes today a really good day to register to vote

Twenty-sixth. The United States ranks 26th in the world in voter turnout, based on the 56 percent of eligible voters who cast ballots in 2016.

Think that’s a problem?

Be a part of the solution, simply by casting your ballot. But first, you have to sign up.

And what better day to do that, then today, on National Voter Registration Day?

Our democracy is at risk, but voters have the power to bring forth change. Whether you are Republican, or Democrat, an independent, Libertarian, Green or a supporter of any other political persuasion, you can make a difference in how your country, your state and your city or town conducts its business.

But you gotta vote.

We can do better than the 36 percent turnout in the 2014 midterms, the lowest civic participation since World War II.

Make your voice heard. Register now.
