“With all the things going on in the world, we can see how fragile our democracy is. I think it's really, really important that we are all participating in this American experiment, which has implications for the whole world.” - Kathryn Murdoch
Quadrivium president Kathryn Murdoch saw a problem in how the incentives of our electoral system were blocking our nation’s ability to tackle problems. Her thoughtful engagement and strategic philanthropy through partners like Unite America is now leading to fundamental improvements for all American voters. Kathryn’s philanthropy helped win redistricting reform in several states, empower Alaskan voters to adopt ranked choice voting for all their major elections, advance RCV in states like Utah and Virginia, and support a rising tide of organizations working for better elections.
“One of the things I think is really encouraging in working with Kathryn is her deep understanding of the nuances of our system and her desire to make it fair for all voters,” said Susan Lerner, the Executive Director of Common Cause New York and who worked with Kathryn to win ranked choice voting in New York City and ensure its successful debut in 2021.
