Joel Nair is senior at the University of Maryland, College Park earning a B.S. in Economics with a minor in Actuarial Mathematics. As an undergraduate, he has interned at the World Bank Group’s Trade and Competitiveness department and Jardine Lloyd Thompson Asia. His final year at the University of Maryland is being spent earning a departmental honors recognition through writing his undergraduate thesis, Did Medicaid Expansion Reduce Medical Divorce (A Continuation). His study is an extension and replication of a paper which examined the impact of the Affordable Care Act’s expansion of Medicaid and its impact on divorce rates in expansion states.
