Elena Gilbertson Hall is a rising sophomore at the University of Chicago studying Public Policy. Prior to working at Fair Vote, Elena served as a Legislative Fellow for Georgia State House Representative Spencer Frye, an intern for the Democratic Party of Georgia, and a volunteer for campaigns at local, state, and national levels. She is passionate about combating voter suppression, exploring international relations, and supporting women and marginalized individuals through the political process. Through her work, she aims to make American democracy more representative and accessible to all voters.

Ranked choice voting elections to watch in 2021

In the last few years, more and more cities have started to experiment with ranked choice voting in their municipal elections. This November, there will be a historic number of cities using RCV for their elections -- from mayor to city council to school board. In Utah alone this year, 23 cities chose to opt-in to an RCV pilot program.
