Issues of electoral reform have never been hotter. As Americans look for ways to safeguard democracy during a fiercely partisan era, topics like redistricting, ranked choice voting, and strengthening our election infrastructure have become a crucial part of the national conversation.

FairVote and Stand Up Republic invite you to continue this conversation at an intimate breakfast interview with one of America’s leading democracy scholars, Larry Diamond of Stanford University. Diamond will be in conversation with Evan McMullin, executive director of Stand Up Republic, and Rob Richie, president and CEO of FairVote.

It’s a perfect time to hear from Dr. Diamond, whose life’s work has been securing democracy’s future and working with dissidents fighting tyranny worldwide. Now his attention is focused at home: His new book, “Ill Winds: Saving Democracy from Russian Rage, Chinese Ambition, and American Complacency,” will be published in mid-June. “Ill Winds” argues that this moment is a tipping point between autocracy or democratic renewal. “If we do not reclaim our traditional place as the keystone of democracy,” he suggests, “today's authoritarian swell could become a tsunami.”

We’d love to have you join us. We’ll provide coffee and pastries. Larry’s book will also be available for sale. Space is limited. If you’d like to attend, RSVP by Friday, June 14.
