Alaska could be next state to adopt ranked choice voting

On July 6, Alaskans for Better Elections submitted a three-pronged ballot proposal to improve Alaska's elections by increasing transparency, participation, access, and choice in Alaska's elections. This proposal includes implementation of RCV at the state level, which would make Alaska the second state, after Maine, to implement it statewide.

Gerrymandering Antidote: the Fair Representation Act

The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that federal courts have no constitutional role to play in preventing partisan gerrymandering. However, the legislative branch can, in fact, act to mitigate the nefarious effects of gerrymandering. It should do that by passing the Fair Representation Act, which would institute a different election system: the single-transferable vote form of ranked choice voting.
