Austin Bartola

Austin Bartola is a Research Intern with the Law and Policy Department at FairVote. He is currently a senior at American University, majoring in Political Science and History. Previously, he has served as a research assistant in AU's School of Public Affairs and as a legislative intern in the U.S. House of Representatives and the New Jersey State Assembly. Austin is interested in analyzing the impact of institutional constraints on electoral behavior and the rise of political polarization. He believes that the movement to reform our electoral system is one of the greatest available opportunities to improve the vitality and functionality of American democracy, and hopes to help FairVote demonstrate the advantages of these reforms to political leaders and the public alike through data-driven advocacy.
