EJ Marin works alongside FairVote’s outreach department, assisting with tracking ranked choice voting (RCV) and National Popular Vote (NPV) legislation, tracking RCV use on college campuses, logging and summarizing any current or previous RCV or NPV legislation, and contributing to FairVote’s blog. EJ has helped the outreach department summarize and log 343 RCV bills that have been introduced in state legislatures from 2001-2017 and is currently summarizing and logging RCV and NPV bills that are currently up for consideration in multiple state legislatures. EJ believes that just as a body of water requires certain levels of oxygen to sustain life, a body of government requires certain levels of political participation to sustain democracy. EJ's belief in RCV’s ability to improve inclusion and participation within the electoral process is the principle reason that brought Ej to FairVote. EJ is currently a junior at Indiana University’s School of Public & Environmental Affairs (SPEA), majoring in Law & Public Policy.
