BAN: Court rules restrictive Ohio ballot access rules unconstitutional in LP v. Blackwell

// Published September 7, 2006
FairVote supports voters having meaningful choices at the polls. Too often state and local governments set barriers to having these choices.

Richard Winger, the tireless and tenacious editor of Ballot Access News, has generated a remarkable archive of information about ballot access and related issues. On September 6, it provided information on a major victory for the rights of parties to present their candidates to the voters: a ruling by the 6th circuit in Libertarian Party v. Blackwell that struck down new Ohio procedures that kept minor party candidates from running with their party labels in 2002, 2004 and 2006. See: Ballot Access News.
