Ranked Choice Voting Can Improve Campus Elections

Posted by Ethan Fitzgerald on February 04, 2016

Last month, FairVote was given the opportunity to present to the American Student Government Association on ranked choice voting. ASGA endeavors to provide networking, research, and information resources to the student governments at its 1,409 member institutions. This made ASGA’s monthly webinar series the perfect venue to tell students about the benefits of RCV for campus elections.

In the video below, you can watch an archive of the presentation. We discuss the mechanics of ranked choice voting, the solutions it offers for making elections more civil and governments more representative, and hear about Georgetown University’s experience with RCV elections.
