National Popular Vote Gains Momentum New Endorsers Demonstrate Broad Support for Reform

Momentum for the National Popular Vote Plan (NPV) for electing the president continues to build with three new key endorsements from national organizations. In the past few months, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Demos and Public Citizen have all signed on in support of the proposal, which would ensure the winner of the national popular vote wins the presidency every time.

The interstate compact is law in five states and has passed 29 legislative chambers around the country. NPV bills have been introduced in every state and polls show more than 70% of Americans support a national popular vote for president.
