Joe Witte

Joe Witte joined FairVote January 2012 to support research projects, including choice voting. He is a recent Public Policy Analysis graduate from Pomona College, and plans to continue his education with research work experience and a Master's in Public Policy. Prior to joining FairVote, Joe has pursued a wide range of research and analysis work experiences, including an internship at the Los Angeles Unified School District Research Unit and work as a proctor in Professor John Hibbing's biopolitics lab at the University of Nebraska. Joe is also as a literacy tutor working for for award-winning SES provider The Literacy Lab.

  • The Supply Side: Alternative Reform Approaches to Campaign Finance

    Last Saturday marked the two-year anniversary of the controversial U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission. Citizens United overturned decades of campaign finance law by extending First Amendment protection to political expenditures by corporations and unions. Most reformers focus on how to affect the supply of money in politics, whereas FairVote focuses on electoral reforms that will reduce the demand for money in politics by reducing the impact of money.
