Jesse Docter grew up on a farm in Western Massachusetts, and comes to the big city after his third year studying in the cornfields of Northeast Ohio. There he is a student at Oberlin College entering his senior year majoring in Politics and History. He has worked at several different political organizations including an internship at the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, a Voter Protection Fellowship with Ohio Together, and he has served on Oberlin’s Student Senate for two years. He is brought to FairVote by his passion for deepening democracy, and reforming our system so that citizen voices can be heard. In the future he intends to pursue a career in political advocacy, he is especially interested in electoral reform, criminal justice reform, and climate policy. In his spare time he enjoys cooking and bike touring.
