Grace Ramsey


Grace Ramsey coordinates outreach and advocacy for state and national reform efforts. Grace graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in political science. Before coming to FairVote, Grace was a communications intern with the University of Minnesota, as well as a constituent affairs intern at the office of U.S. Senator Russ Feingold. More recently, Grace was an organizer with FairVote Minnesota, serving as Deputy Field Director for FairVote Minnesota’s 2013 Rank Your Vote campaign which focused on educating voters, candidates, and the media about ranked choice voting in Minneapolis’ 2013 municipal elections. Through her work at FairVote Minnesota, Grace honed her passion for voter education and community building. Grace has also served on ranked choice voting campaigns in Duluth, Minnesota and the state-wide ballot measure passed in Maine last November.

Maine Legislators Should Respect the Will of the People

When Maine voters adopted ranked choice voting on November 8, 2016, the result was heralded as “hope for the future.” However, a recent controversial move in South Dakota demonstrates how politicians can react to reform with knee-jerk opposition, and some worry that at least some Maine legislators are seeking a way to delay, or even repeal, ranked choice voting - against the wishes of the people.
