Grace Ramsey

Grace Ramsey coordinates outreach to state and national reform efforts. Grace graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in political science. Before coming to FairVote, Grace was a communications intern with University of Minnesota College of Design, as well as a constituent affairs intern at the office of U.S. Senator Russ Feingold. More recently, Grace was an organizer with FairVote Minnesota, serving as Deputy Field Director for FairVote Minnesota’s 2013 Rank Your Vote campaign. The campaign focused on educating voters, candidates, and the media about ranked choice voting in Minneapolis’ 2013 municipal elections. Through her work at FairVote Minnesota, Grace honed her passion for voter education and community building.

California Bill to Expand Options for Local Elections Goes to Governor Brown

Senate Bill 1288, sponsored by Senator Mark Leno, which enables all of the state’s general law jurisdictions to use fairer voting methods, including ranked choice voting, passed the state assembly last Thursday 46-26. The bill passed the State Senate back in May and is now headed to the desk of Governor Jerry Brown.

May 24th Launch of First Congressional Voting Rights Caucus

Tuesday marked the launch of the first Congressional Voting Rights Caucus. The caucus held a press conference outside the Capitol, led by Co-Chairs Representative Marc Veasey (TX-33) and Representative Terri Sewell (AL-7) announcing the formation of the caucus and the policy goals it hopes to advance.

New York City Includes RCV in State Legislative Agenda

The New York City Council took a step forward in improving elections by including the adoption of ranked choice voting in its legislative agenda for the New York State Legislature. The City Council wrote in favor of legislation proposed by Assemblyman Brian Kavanaugh that would allow New York City to implement RCV for citywide primary elections.
